At the heart of this year’s message is a simple but powerful truth: community matters. Whether through shared interests, geographic location, or values, being part of a community enhances mental health by providing support, reducing isolation, and increasing resilience.
“Mental health is part of every moment of our lives,” says Laura Arthur, CEO of Doncaster Mind. “It’s in our homes, workplaces, and daily routines. This Mental Health Awareness Week, we want to reach as many people in as many ways as possible — because no mind should be left behind.”
The Power of Community
Community is more than just a shared space — it’s a lifeline. A strong sense of belonging contributes to better mood, improved self-esteem, and greater resilience. Research shows that being part of a community can significantly reduce stress, anxiety, and feelings of loneliness.
Doncaster Mind is proud to offer inclusive, accessible, and meaningful support for all, including:
· Groups, activities and courses for personal development
· One-to-one support, in person or over the phone
