The challenge, inspired by this year's National Fitness Day theme, Powered by You, aims to bring communities together through movement while encouraging people of all ages and abilities to get active. Every activity completed across DCLT sites will contribute towards the ambitious one million Power Points target.
Kyle Spencer-Judd and Freddie Newton, Fitness Instructors
"From swimming and fitness classes to gym sessions, running, cycling, skating and more, every movement counts. Activities will be allocated Power Points that contribute towards our shared goal of reaching one million points.
"Across our centres, activities will contribute to our Human Power Grid throughout the day as we work together towards our one million Power Points target.
"You don't have to be the fastest, strongest or most experienced. Whether you're a regular exerciser or trying something new for the first time, your activity can help power the challenge."
There will be prize giveaways throughout the day, and everyone who takes part in the challenge will be automatically entered into a prize draw.
"Participants can record their activity through the online challenge platform at the centre they use. Those who are not currently Choose Fitness members can claim a free seven-day membership from Wednesday 16 September until Tuesday 22 September and join in the challenge.
"Come and join us and be part of the challenge."
Throughout National Fitness Day, DCLT will be sharing updates on its Power Points total as people across the city get moving and work together towards the one million-point target.
One day. One million Power Points. One community. Powered by You. Powered by Doncaster.
