In June 2022, the owners of Doncaster Sheffield Airport, the Peel Group, announced plans to close the Airport citing a lack of commercial viability. Since that date, Doncaster Council, South Yorkshire Mayoral Combined Authority and partners have been working tirelessly to find solutions to ensure there is a future for the Airport in Doncaster.
