Visitors to Doncaster are invited to step into spring and help the city bloom, as Visit Doncaster launches its brand-new Bloom Trail - a fun, family friendly activity running throughout the city centre as part of the wider Bloom in Doncaster campaign and the upcoming Spring Into Summer event in Sir Nigel Gresley Square.
The Bloom Trail encourages residents and visitors to spot the colourful window vinyls in participating venues across Doncaster city centre. Each vinyl features a QR code, giving trail-goers the chance to enter a competition packed with fantastic prizes, including:
Each visitor can enter the competition up to five times from different locations. Once entrants have scanned the code, they can pick up a flower from participating locations and continue their journey to the Frenchgate Shopping Centre - home of the city’s Bloomin’ Marvellous Flower Wall.
Here, trail participants will be invited to add their flower to the wall, helping it grow into a vibrant, community created celebration of Doncaster’s spring spirit. Visitors can also snap a selfie with the ever-growing floral installation, creating the perfect shareable moment.
Councillor David Nevett added “The Bloom Trail is all about exploring Doncaster’s City Centre shops and cafés and celebrating the start of spring in a way that brings colour to the city. We can’t wait to see the flower wall grow with everyone’s contributions and watch the city come alive with blooms.”
