Charity Twinkle Tree lights up Lakeside Village

A special Twinkle Tree is lighting up a popular retail outlet in Doncaster as part of a festive appeal by Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice.

Lakeside Village Shopping Outlet on White Rose Way is hosting the Bluebell Wood Christmas Tree in its indoor customer services area where people can leave a star with a loved ones name on in their memory. There is also a donation box to support the appeal.

In addition, on Thursday 1st, Saturday 10th, Tuesday 13th and Sunday 18th of December, charity volunteers will be sat next to the tree encouraging people to leave a star and donate money to the much-loved South Yorkshire charity.
Di Mellis, centre manager at Lakeside Village, said: “Christmas can be a difficult time for many as we remember those who are no longer with us. The Bluebell Wood Twinkle, twinkle appeal provides the perfect opportunity for our customers to reflect and remember those who were close to them and leave a lasting memory on the tree over the festive period.

“We are delighted to be involved with this very touching appeal and know our customers will support it and donate whatever they can to help a wonderful local charity in Bluebell Wood.”

Ruth Wallbank, regional fundraising manager at Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice, said: “We are so very grateful for the continued support we receive from Lakeside Village especially with our Twinkle Campaign this Christmas, the team are always supportive of the work we do here at Bluebell Wood and the many ways people can get involved to help us. Thank you.”
