Aquapark and new natural lake pool are set to make a splash this summer at Hatfield Outdoor Activity Centre

The Aquapark is set to return as a summer feature on the lake at Hatfield Outdoor Activity Centre from June 26.

The attraction – new last summer - is ready to welcome families looking for fun on the huge inflatable slides, inflatable climbing wall, runways and the thrilling blast bag!

Chris Hone, head of commercial development for Doncaster Culture and Leisure Trust (DCLT), said: “Our Aquapark fun inflatable proved to be a very popular and welcome addition to Hatfield Outdoor Activity Centre last summer and is now in pride of place on the lake ready to welcome families wanting to enjoy a new activity during the summer months.

“The Aquapark has increased in size for 2021 and will be operated in line with current government guidance and restrictions and booking is essential for this activity.

“We’ve also developed the centre and created a new natural lake pool for those exercise fans ready to brave the elements.”

The four lane, 20-meter pool, is the newest addition to the growing number of activities at the popular DCLT run venue.

Chris added: “The natural lake pool is unheated, so it’s not for the faint hearted but gives an alternative for those who don’t fancy the full open water experience in the lake.

“The pool will provide safe outdoor swimming for the public and will be used for triathlon training via private hire as well as safety and rescue training.

“We’re looking forward to hearing from those in training for events and safety trainers who will be able to use the pool and to welcoming swimmers to the venue.

“People are looking for activities and adventures closer to home this summer and this is a great opportunity for people from the local area to rediscover Hatfield Outdoor Activity Centre. As well as the Aquapark visitors can have a go at canoeing, kayaking and group open water swimming on the lake.

“The centre is home to an extremely popular camp site with great onsite facilities that we added to last season with a shop and café bar.

“Hatfield is a great hidden gem and we’re hoping that lots of local people will come and give our activities a go.

“We expect the campsite and all of the activities to get booked up pretty quickly over the coming months and we are looking forward to welcoming returning campers and new visitors to the site to enjoy the fantastic facilities that are on their doorstep.”

Sessions for the Aquapark must be booked online and all participants must be over the age of seven, be able to swim and be over 122cm tall. The fifty-minute sessions cost £15.50 per person when booked online and in advance and include wetsuit hire. Please check the website for best prices. There is also free parking onsite.
