Bawtry Hall and Gardens Open Day

Designed by local Architect William Lindley, Bawtry Hall was built between 1780 and 1785 for Wakefield Wool Merchant and MP Pemberton Milnes. Following his death in 1785 his only child, daughter Bridgit returns to the house in 1810 following the death of her husband the 4th Viscount Galway of nearby Serlby Hall. The Dowager Viscountess Galway commences a remodelling of the 9 acres around the Hall to create an extensive parkland up to her death in 1835.
