The City of Doncaster is buzzing with excitement as the City Centre Events Co-ordination Group announces the successful conclusion of its ‘Festival Frenzy’ campaign and unveils its highly anticipated successor, ‘Do Summer't in Doncaster’.

This upcoming events programme promises a fabulous summer of family friendly performances, events and entertainment throughout the city for residents and visitors alike.

The ‘Festival Frenzy’ campaign truly set the stage for an unforgettable month, drawing thousands to Doncaster with its diverse array of events. Highlights included the energetic Fake Fest, which brought top tribute acts to the city, the popular Doncaster Food and Drink Festival, featuring Doncaster Beer Festival at Sir Nigel Gresley Square. The unique spectacle of Doncaster Steampunk captivated enthusiasts from across the country, while the thrilling Harper V Zimmermann boxing event kept sports fans on the edge of their seats. The campaign culminated in the triumphant Donny Fest at the Eco-Power Stadium, a fantastic celebration of local music and well-known artists. A key success of ‘Festival Frenzy’ was also the launch of a brand-new, comprehensive Events Guide, providing an easy-to-use resource for all upcoming happenings.

As the city transitions from the frenzy of festivals to the sunny charm of summer, "Do Summer't in Doncaster" is poised to continue the momentum. The launch of this new campaign is accompanied by a fantastic video, showcasing the highlights of the vibrant events scene and giving a sneak peek into what's to come. Residents and visitors can look forward to a diverse range of events, including the much-anticipated appearance of Vernon Kay at Doncaster Racecourse as part of the Summer Saturday Series, the fascinating Open Cockpit Weekend at South Yorkshire Aircraft Museum, Armed Forces Day at Elmfield Park, Caged Steel 40 at The Dome, Doncaster Young Traders Market and the colourful and inclusive Doncaster Pride at Town Field. These events, alongside many more, promise something for everyone.

Shaun Lockwood, Chair of the City Centre Events Co-ordination Group and Chief Operating Officer at Club Doncaster, expressed his enthusiasm for the ongoing success: ‘We've kicked off the year with some fantastic events in the city and we're excited for the next phase of the campaign to launch to promote the activity and welcome many visitors to the city.’

Driven by a shared vision, the City Centre Events Co-ordination Group includes key players from Doncaster Racecourse, Doncaster Markets, DCLT, CAST, Club Doncaster, Lakeside Village and facilitated by City of Doncaster Council – has formed to amplify and celebrate the exceptional range of Doncaster's venues, attractions and a high-quality events programme.

Nikki Griffiths, General Manager at Doncaster Racecourse, added, ‘Doncaster has so much going on this summer. We wanted to join forces with our partners to ensure promotion is being co-ordinated and reaching people far and wide to come and enjoy our fantastic events programme.’
