Celebrate the start of the festive season as Doncaster comes alive with Christmas cheer at the annual Christmas Light Switch-On.

Event Highlights

This year’s event will take place in the heart of Doncaster, with the newly refurbished Corn Exchange providing a stunning backdrop for an evening of entertainment and celebration. The Wool Market and Market Square will be filled with festive spirit, food, and fun.

What to Expect

• Live street entertainment throughout the city centre
• Radio Roadshow hosted by Doncaster Radio
• Brass Band performance featuring selected pieces from The Snowman
• Father Christmas making a special appearance with his music box of Christmas favourites
• Children’s rides (pay per ride)
• Carousel – £3 per ticket
• The Helter-Skelter
• Sam Bailey live on stage at 7pm alongside the Switch on at 7.30pm

Food & Drink

Enjoy a wide selection of traditional and festive food and drink from local vendors, alongside the offerings already available in the Wool Market and Market Square.

The Big Moment

• At 7:30 PM, gather in Market Square for the official light switch-on, featuring:
• Sam Bailey
• Two large Christmas trees
• Festive lighting installations
• A specially choreographed firework display over the Market Square
