On Saturday 6th December, Doncaster City Centre will come alive as we celebrate the Countdown to Christmas with one BIG Festive Saturday!
On this day we will see the opening of the Christmas Cabins on St Sepulchre Gate – Sixteen decorated Christmas cabins with tasty treats and gift ideas for the family – and even the family pets!
The Cabins are open daily until 24th December.
Big Festive Saturday will also see the opening of the Candy Cane Golf course on Frenchgate. A nine hole FREE to play attraction for all the family. The Course is open 6/7 13/14th December then from 18 – 24th daily from 10am to 4pm. The opening will see the Dons Rugby League Club players joining in so why not come and meet the team and get into the “swing” for Christmas.
There’s still more – BIG Festive Saturday also sees us joined by The Snowman live character for meets and greets and “snofies” – they’re a bit like a selfie but with a snowman!
He will be joining is at 11am with local snowman artist Rebecca Wright who was commissioned to paint one of the twelve snowmen sculptures currently located around the city centre. Rebecca will be joined by Mayor Ros Jones as we celebrate the Walking with The Snowman Trail and Rebecca’s stunning sculpture which is located outside the Mansion House.
So that’s The Snowman, the artist of Six Geese a-Laying, Dons rugby players, Snofies, Candy Cane Golf and the opening of the Christmas Cabins.
Make your way to Doncaster for our BIG Festive Saturday event – Saturday 6th December as this is the perfect opportunity to explore Doncaster City Centre and soak up the Christmas atmosphere.
