Ronn van Etten from the Netherlands is touring England with his Eric Clapton tribute.
Ronn is a vocalist/guitarist and a long-time fan of Eric Clapton and surely took some inspiration of Clapton’s guitar playing.
From 2019 he performs with a tribute act that includes songs by Clapton from nearly all decades of his career. Suggested by a friend from Ireland he met in Thailand he started doing tribute shows in a first tour in Cyprus in 2019, followed by some more tours in later years.
For 2023 an English tour is planned in May/June and talks are ongoing about doing shows in Germany as well.
The two-set shows are mostly filled with songs by Eric Clapton during his extensive solo career.
Early hits like “I shot the Sheriff” and Bell bottom blues, later hits like “Cocaine” and “Wonderful Tonight”, -of course- Clapton’s Grammy winning, mega-hit “Tears in Heaven”, but also some lesser-known album tracks from albums released in later years like “River of Tears”.
So, it will be a night of remembering, a touch of nostalgia maybe, some beautiful ballads and of course a fair amount of guitar playing.
Ronn van Etten released 9 albums over the years and several singles in Holland and lately in the USA.
