‘First Bite’, the story of the original 1924 stage performance of Bram Stoker’s Dracula

Dr Ann Featherstone returns to Cusworth to tell us about how Bram Stoker's novel, Dracula, was transformed into a stage play and had its premiere, not in the glitzy West End, but in Derby, at the Grand Theatre, Babington Lane.

Ann is a sought-after speaker and we are lucky to have her back with us again.

She is a retired university lecturer and teacher as well as an author. She has written non-fiction books and articles and she also has two historical novels published.

Ann has appeared on local and national radio, The One Show, and in documentaries about fairs and circuses on BBC4. She has twice been a guest expert on Who Do You Think You Are, once with Sheridan Smith and, in the 2017 series, with Sir Ian McKellan. In May 2019, she appeared in the second series of BBC1's 'A House Through Time'.
