COMMEMORATING MEN OF EXTRAORDINARY VALOUR
The Victoria Cross Trust is a small Doncaster based charity that restores and maintains the graves and memorials of Victoria Cross recipients. The charity also visits local schools telling the stories of those behind the highest award for valour.
The Victoria Cross Trust is holding an event at Doncaster Corn Exchange in the Market Place 10am to 4.30pm - Tuesday 10th November 2026 to raise funds for the charity and to commemorate the seven recipients from Doncaster of the highest award for Valour: The Victoria Cross.
• A unique opportunity to view Victoria Cross heritage, artefacts and history.
• Speak with local historians and groups dedicated to Doncaster’s history.
• Donate to the charity and purchase remembrance related merchandise.
• Learn about the highest award for valour and the seven Doncaster men who received it
Victoria Cross Trust Patron, Rusty Firmin - ex SAS, who led a team into the Iranian Embassy to rescue hostages, will be present with his new book ‘SAS Aftermath’ and co-author Neil Thornton.
Open to the public free of charge
The Victoria Cross Trust maintains the memories and memorials of these men and other VCs across the UK raising all funds through donations and retail sales at their Doncaster shops.
They placed memorial plaques in Doncaster to recognise the actions of these men and to create a lasting legacy for their extreme valour, devotion to duty and self-sacrifice
