The Festival of British Railway Modelling, the UK’s premier celebration of model railways, is returning in February 2026, promising a weekend of inspiration, creativity, and community for enthusiasts of all ages.

Taking place on 7th and 8th February, the festival brings together passionate modellers, collectors, and newcomers to explore the very best of British railway modelling. Visitors can discover over 30 detailed layouts from across the UK, many of which have been featured in British Railway Modelling magazine. Each layout represents a unique region, era, or style, providing fresh ideas and inspiration for hobbyists at every level.

The event also hosts more than 60 exhibitors, including leading retailers, specialist manufacturers, and independent suppliers. Attendees will have the chance to see the latest products, purchase essentials, and uncover unique items to enhance their own collections.

In addition to layouts and shopping, the festival offers a rich programme of clubs, societies, and live demonstrations, giving visitors practical advice and expert guidance to help develop their modelling skills. The event is designed to be welcoming for railway modellers of all levels, as well as for families looking for a fun and educational day out.
