Get ready for a deliciously creative engineering challenge with Kids Invent Stuff.
Join the Kids Invent Stuff team for a fun family STEAM challenge where you’ll use melted chocolate to “weld” materials together and try to build the tallest tower before time runs out, while learning about real chocolate inventions and how engineers use welding in the real world.
After a short introduction to welding and how it is used in real engineering, participants will take on a timed challenge. Using melted chocolate as your “welding tool”, you will work together to build the tallest tower you can before the clock runs out. Along the way you’ll experiment with different structures, test ideas and see what makes a tower strong and stable.
The Kids Invent Stuff team will also share some of the incredible chocolate-based inventions they have created while building machines from children’s invention ideas. You’ll discover how similar joining techniques are used in their invention builds and learn how engineering ideas can turn imaginative designs into real working creations.
This playful activity combines science, technology, engineering, art and creativity in a way that is accessible and fun for all ages. No previous experience is needed – just bring your imagination and a willingness to experiment.
Perfect for families with curious children who love building, inventing and getting hands-on, this workshop is a fantastic way to explore engineering together while creating something sweet.
