Doncaster Ukulele Group formed in 2015 with the aim of providing a space for local ukulele players to get together for a strum and sing.
Fast forward to 2025 and the group celebrates their 10th Anniversary. Now with well over 100 members on roll and having raised tens of thousands of pounds for the William Appleby Music Trust, they’re riding a real high on the back of an amazing run of performances across the local community.
This special 10th Anniversary Celebration Concert aims to showcase what makes this quirky bunch so special. You’d be forgiven for thinking it must be an evening of George Formby covers, but that couldn’t be any further from what you will witness on the night. You can expect ukulele singalong versions of hits from the 60s to the present day as the group present their plucking good versions of rock, pop, soul and Motown classics.
This is the biggest show in the group’s history and will feature collaborations with some special guest performers too. If you weren’t already convinced to purchase a ticket, know that the group even came runner up in the ‘Ukulele Band of the Year’ award in 2019 (yes, it’s a real thing!)
