Easter is going to be even more fun this year with Doncaster Mumbler. The team have created a fun, free Bug Hunt at 5 local woodlands and parks for families in Doncaster this Spring.

The case of the missing caterpillar:

Dennis is a detective bee. He loves to follow clues and solve puzzles to help his friends. Today Dennis has a particularly tricky case to crack and he needs your help. His best friend, Kevin the caterpillar, has gone missing. He was last seen munching an apple core beside a litter bin.

Can you help Dennis find the 9 hidden clues and solve the case of the missing caterpillar?

With things to spot and quiz questions to answer along the way this free, safe trail is ideal for families looking for something a bit different this Easter, at a time to suit them, in locations where they can socially distance and adhere to the latest government restrictions. Doncaster Mumbler, in partnership with Visit Doncaster, Get Doncaster Moving and Hungry Little Minds, have created a ‘Community Bug Hunt’, a picture trail for children to spot and collect clues to help Dennis crack the case. The Community Bug Hunt will be available for families to visit from the 15th March until the 12th of April at Hexthorpe Park, Sandall Beat Wood, Thorne Memorial Park, Dunsville Quarry Park and Denaby Memorial Park.

As well as helping Dennis search for clues there are lots of other fun bug themed activities for kids to enjoy at home on the Doncaster Mumbler website. Activities include colouring sheets, games and a spring themed scavenger hunt.

The trail has been developed in partnership with Visit Doncaster, Get Doncaster Moving and Hungry Little Minds. Children aged 0-5 will also be able to claim their free book this Spring with Hungry Little Minds. Simply visit the Doncaster Mumbler website for more information on how to claim. As well as the original trails at 5 locations across Doncaster, Caroline Brooks , owner of Doncaster Mumbler, has also created a free trail pack that local schools, play groups and communities can access.
