The Big Lakeside Clean Up – 19 bags of litter collected

The management team from Lakeside Village joined with partners from Business Doncaster and the two McDonalds in the area to take part in The Big Lakeside Clean Up.

The event, part of Keep Britain Tidy’s Great British September Clean, saw the group collect a whopping 19 bags of litter from the area.

Di Rodgers, centre manager from Lakeside Village said: “We’ve talked about doing in litter pick around the area for some time and had originally planned to take part in an event in spring but sadly this all got cancelled due to the UK lockdown,

“We are thrilled that we’ve been able to join forces with our friends and partners to run a socially distanced litter pick. We had two teams from the McDonalds at Lakeside Village and the one next to the Dome and our Lakeside

Village team was joined by representatives from Business Doncaster, who once again turned out to support us as a local business.

“It is fantastic to see the difference you can make when you work together. We’ll be looking for other opportunities to improve our local area as a team in the near future and hope to now run quarterly litter picks in the area.

“Thank you to everyone who took part and to Doncaster Council for providing the equipment we needed to take part, and for sending a Womble to inspire us as we began our litter pick.”
