Queen's Birthday Honours: Doncaster residents recognised
Following the publication of the Queen’s birthday honours list, Mayor of Doncaster Ros Jones, said: “I am delighted to read five Doncaster people have been honoured by The Queen in her birthday honours and I am sure that the people of Doncaster would like me to pass on congratulations.
“They have been recognised for their incredibly selfless work during the Coronavirus pandemic and, in one instance, dedication to the public sector. I am delighted for all of them and I would like to thank them on behalf of the council and the people of Doncaster.”
One shining example during Covid-19 is Sam Siddall, who was appointed as an MBE for her work with Edlington Community Organisation (ECO), where she has been involved for more than 18 years.
Since lockdown began, Sam and the team at ECO have supported around 4,000 people with food parcels, care packages and check-in services.
