Doncaster student stuns with art designs

A talented student from Communication Specialist College Doncaster is following in the footsteps of Picasso, as her art is displayed in pride of place at Doncaster’s Danum Gallery.

Art lovers will be able to browse and enjoy a new collection, as designs by Anna Richardson, 20, go on show for the next two months.

Anna, who has been studying a Level 2 Award in Support Work in Schools and Colleges since September 2021, had her talent recognised by teachers at the Communication Specialist College Doncaster when she showed them her work.

Her creations were quickly snapped up by the gallery, which has previously displayed works by the likes of Pablo Picasso and Henri Matisse. Anna, who is from Blackpool, but is a residential student at the college, will see her art showcased alongside heritage collections, plus works of national and regional significance.

Employer Engagement Officer for Communication Specialist College Doncaster, Annette Price, said: “I was made aware from staff at Communication Specialist College Doncaster of Anna's artistic talents from discussions and the few pieces of art she had been happy to show staff.

“I had visited Danum Gallery and was inspired to see if we could display Anna's Artwork.  Its Arts and Exhibitions Manager, Neil McGregor, was really impressed with Anna’s work. It’s really exciting to see it displayed in the gallery.”
