Rainbow Connection Choir

  • Date: 2 Jun 22

Members of Rainbow Connection Singers and Junior Choir are thrilled to come together to sing for this once in a lifetime celebration.

Rainbow Connection Singers are triple winners in the open category of BBC Choir of the Year winning in 2010, 2014 and 2016 and subsequently winning Manchester Amateur Choral in 2017. In November 2018, they travelled to The Menin Gate at Ypres to sing during wreath laying at the Last Post Ceremony to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the end of WW1, a truly humbling experience!

Rainbow Connection Junior Choir have been very busy. They have just recorded Children of the World for a music publisher, which will be used in schools across the UK to fundraise for the Ukraine. The Junior Choir are also thrilled to be one of only 10 choirs from across the UK to be invited to appear at Music For Youth National Festival in Birmingham on July 9.

Performing together for the 1st time in 2020 they were runners up in Manchester and this year won the overall prize at the Mrs Sunderland Festival in Huddersfield.

They will be coming together once again on July 4th alongside all the school and adults choirs run by Paul & Debbie Mellors at The Dome in a show called BRAND NEW DAY.

At 9:45pm on 2nd June: Rainbow Connection Singers & Junior Choir will perform the Song for the Commonwealth ‘A life lived with grace’ as we light Doncaster’s Platinum Jubilee Beacons. The Choir will also perform earlier in the evening.
