This guided walk is brought to you as part of Heritage Open Days 2022.
Although the Sand House may have disappeared, there are still many clues to its former existence, if you know where to look. With the help of old maps and historic images, Richard Bell – a direct descendant of the Sand House’s creator – will tell the story of the development and destruction of the house and of the tunnel network that was linked to it. You will discover the whereabouts of the iconic Elephant & Mahout sculpture!
PLACES MUST BE PRE-BOOKED. To book your place on this walk please telephone Richard Bell on 07777 688438. Places are limited for safety reasons. Please note that if you turn up on the day without booking you will not be able to join the walk if we have already reached the safe capacity.
This event is free of charge, but donations to The Sand House Charity would be greatly appreciated. Books and other merchandise will be available to purchase.
