This weekend is the most important weekend of the year, also known as Yorkshire Day (1st August). So what better way to celebrate than with a fun weekend packed full of great activities in God's own county.

Below is our list of things that you can do in Doncaster this weekend to celebrate (click on each event for more details including dates). 1. Summer Daycation at the Dome: Book a family fun Day at The Dome Doncaster and enjoy 20% off when you book swimming and skating together.

2. Sunset Safari at the Yorkshire Wildlife Park: Enjoy an evening stroll at the Yorkshire Wildlife Park, Doncaster this Summer. Take in the stunning backdrop and see the park and amazing animals in a whole new light.

3. Young Traders Market: Regional Final: It doesn't get more Yorkshire than this. Come out and support young entrepreneurs in our region as they compete for the the coveted title of Young Trader of the year! 

4. Steampunk Spectacular: Colourful costumes, top entertainment, a pop up tipi bar and summer vibes in Sir Nigel Gresley Square - this is just a flavour of what you can expect from this year's Steampunk Spectacular.

5.Tipi in the Square From 12pm on Sunday, make the most of the Tipi on Sir Nigel Gresley Square because it is the last day it is going to be there! There will be drinks flowing and entertainers...well entertaining. Expect Live Music from 1pm - 8pm with local acoustic artists Featuring Ryan Lightfoot (the 48K's), Anya Lace, David Bo Ramsay, Anastasia Walker

6. Live Music at the Wool Market: Sam Wright: Support local artist Sam Wright as he entertains you live from the Wool Market stage. 

7. Band Sundays at Brodsworth Hall: Hear Yorkshire’s finest bands perform against the stunning backdrop of Brodsworth Hall. 

8. The Gomde Experience OPEN DAY: The perfect opportunity to have a closer look at Gomde and experience what the Buddhist retreat is all about (Richard Gere once stayed there you know). 

9. Doncaster RLFC v Hunslet: The Dons are delighted to welcome back the first Rugby League game without restrictions since March 2020 and it is an all Yorkshire game to mark Yorkshire Day as the Dons take on Hunslet!

10. Hatfield Outdoor Aqua Park: Go wet and wild at Doncaster's much loved outdoor waterpark adventure.

11. Go for a Family Walk: Venture out into the great outdoors and discover Doncaster's breath-taking green spaces ranging from moorland to marshland, wetland to woodlands, featuring some of the rarest and most diverse flora and fauna anywhere in the UK. 

12. Eat, Drink and be Merry: Doncaster has some seriously good international cuisines for you to choose from, we also have plenty of local restaurants and pubs that serve up a good old Yorkshire dinner if you want to immerse yourself in the culture.
