Armed Forces Day 2023

Armed Forces Day 2023
  • Venue/Location:Doncaster City Centre
  • Date: 24 Jun 23
  • Tickets:Free

Join us in Doncaster as we show our support for the people who make up the Armed Forces community, from currently serving troops to Service families, veterans and cadets.

On Armed Forces Day Saturday 24th June 2023 the 1st Battalion Coldstream Guards and the Band of the Coldstream Guards, along with other representation from all the combined Armed Forces - Royal Navy, British Army and Royal Airforce will parade through the City Centre, there will also be a Mounted Police escort from South Yorkshire Mounted Section and a Jackal military vehicle including crew from the 3rd Battalion Rifles Regiment. This will be an historic event for the City of Doncaster, and the largest in the region as the Coldstream Guards exercise their ‘Right of Entry’ after being given the ‘Freedom of the Borough in 2021.

Hundreds of representatives from our serving forces, cadets, reservists and veterans will participate in a huge military parade through the City Centre streets and on to Elmfield Park where a special Armed Forces Day celebration event will take place.

On the same afternoon Doncaster has also been allocated a Battle of Britain Memorial Flight flypast by a Royal Air Force Spitfire aircraft – it’s all happening at Doncaster’s Armed Forces Day event on Saturday 24th June.

The event looks set to be the biggest ever Armed Forces Day celebration in South Yorkshire as the city comes together to honour the Armed Forces Community, past and present.

The parade will travel along Waterdale, College Road, Cleveland Street, Duke Street, St Sep, High St, Hallgate and Bennetthorpe and end, for the first time, at Elmfield Park with celebrations taking place there throughout the day.
