Boston Park Farm

Boston Park Farm is a traditional working farm where children can get up close with a wide range of farm animals. You can pet and feed most of the animals and on special days we have animal handling sessions. The whole experience is geared up to suit children up to around 10 years old. We have outdoor play equipment, a mini maze and bale pyramid also inside there is a soft play area which is suitable for babies and toddlers and a large indoor sandpit. You and your child can have hours of fun exploring everything we have to offer here at the farm.

Boston Park Farm is open all year round from 10am until 4pm everyday, serving homemade cakes, delicious fresh ground coffee, speciality teas, light lunches and snacks. There is also a range of freshly prepared lunch options from salads, jacket potatoes, Panini’s and sandwiches. There are many children’s meal options, high-chairs and a baby change area.

Situated directly opposite the Hatfield Moors National Nature Reserve, it is ideally located to sit and relax after a walk on the moors.

Within the café there is also a soft play area aimed at the under 5′s which is great for keeping them entertained while you drink your coffee.

Admission to the tearooms and farm is free for Adults and £4 for Children, under 2′s are free.

Staff are working hard to protect the wider environment at Boston Park whilst maintaining a working farm. They would be delighted to welcome school parties who want to find out more.

The Animal Trail

Come and meet all the animals on the farm! From cute calves to the bouncing bunnies, there’s all sorts of new friends waiting to meet you! Find out facts about the animals as you make your way around the trail, there’s animal food available for sale in the splendid tearooms so you can feed them too.

It usually takes between half an hour to an hour to feed all of our animals. At the end of the trail there is a hand wash area, so you can clean up once you have finished.

Little Farmers

Little Farmers is a toddler group for children aged over 18 months.

A weekly 1 hour session runs where your child will take part in farm themed crafts and activities, such as planting seeds, animal handling & trailer rides. Each session is £5 per child and includes a craft to take home, feed for the animals, a drink and a biscuit.

There are two sessions each week during term times:
Mondays 1:30pm — 2:30 pm
Thursdays 10:30am —11:30am

Booking is essential though so please contact Boston Park Farm for more information and to book a place.

Maize Maze

We also have a Maize Maze which is open from Mid-July until the end of October each year when it is harvested to feed to the animals. The pattern within the maze changes each year and we have had everything from a combine harvester to a horse and cart.

When entering the Maize Maze, you have to find the four flag poles, which are hidden throughout the maze. At each flag pole there is a clip so that you can mark your sheet to show you have found that flag.

Also lost in the maze is Maizie Maize, she doesn’t have a flag pole so is a little harder to find! If you find all five, then you win a lollipop!
