Over 70 people turned up to Doncaster Cycle Track on Friday 15th November to take part in the Cycle Challenge to Cycle 874 miles (Lands End to John o Groats) in 12 hours to raise money for BBC Children in Need.
Participants ranged from the ages of 3 to nearly 70 and they smashed their target but collectively cycling over 1500 miles.
DCLT also held a Spinathon across their Choose Fitness gyms and managed to spin 900 miles so altogether cycled 2,400 miles.
Other activities included colouring in sheets at the playzone at Adwick Leisure Complex and The Dome as well as a raffle.
They raised approximately £1,200 for Children in Need in total.
It was a fantastic day with everyone saying how much they enjoyed it and Cycle track users enjoying the track for the first time saying they can’t wait to come back.
Lots of staff joined in with the cycle challenge on the track including senior management, gym instructors, marketing staff, leisure staff and bikeability instructors. It was great to see everyone working as a team and coming together to achieve such a fantastic result.
