Tasty news on Delicious Doncaster 2018
Attention food fans!
It's not long to go now until the Delicious Doncaster 2018 extravaganza arrives in town and today we're thrilled to share with you all a 'taster' (see what we did there?!) of what's instore for the whole weekend, Friday 4th to Bank Holiday Monday 7th May.
Delicious Doncaster is a family event; we have something for everyone with all tastes and ages catered for, so make sure you bring friends, family and a huge bag to take home all your delicious goodies. The whole weekend sees a myriad of hot and cold food vendors, local produce for sale, fantastic entertainment, cooking demonstrations and competitions with some special highlights for each day, so there's always something new to come and enjoy.
The party atmosphere continues in Doncaster following the 'très bien' Tour de Yorkshire celebrations on Thursday 3rd, with the fantastic opening day of Delicious Doncaster beginning 10am on Friday.
Delicious Friday sees students and lecturers from Doncaster College host a number of cooking demonstration session in the main marquee from 10:30. There will also be The Ready Steady Cook Challenge as well as a cooking demonstration from Maryan of Taste of Peru set to wow audiences.
Super Saturday is all about our guests The Hairy Bikers. Si and Dave. The delicious duo will be delivering two ticketed sessions in the main marquee at 12:30pm and 3pm and prior to this they will be meeting and greeting guests in the market area on a walking tour. They will also be book signing from the Delicious Doncaster Merchandise stall that will be situated outside the main marquee in the Market Square. Standard seating and standing tickets are still available for both sessions and can be purchased online here.
Scrumptious Sunday sees the return of Michelin award winning chef Jean-Christophe Novelli to the festival following his hugely successful visit last year, like last year his sessions in the main marquee commence at 12 noon and 2pm. These performances are ticketed and throughout the rest of the day he will engage with the public and the market stall holders in walking tours of the market and surrounding festival area. The must-have tickets for Jean-Christophe are also still available to book online here. Sunday also sees a series of talks and interactive sessions in the marquee. Urban Worms will deliver a worm composting workshop teaching people how they can make their own worm composting bins. Bentley Urban Farm will show how to make planters out of reclaimed materials and host a seed bombing workshop and Slow Food UK will deliver a workshop on Slow Food and the Slow Movement.
Mouth-watering Monday is local day and alongside Chef Michael Price and Colin Robson- Wright we’ll be turning up the heat again with a Taste of Peru and local suppliers and producers in a day packed full of the very best food and drink around. There are the 'finals' of The Great Doncaster Bake Off and the Doncaster Omelette Challenge sees local businesses take part in this hugely competitive challenge to become the Doncaster Omelette Maestro.

Delicious Doncaster events and stalls will be open from 10am until 6pm each day, so come for the day, tickle your tastebuds and pig out!
