LNER Song For Yorkshire

Welcome to Yorkshire are launching the LNER Song for Yorkshire competition to celebrate everything we know and love about Yorkshire.

With huge prizes and opportunities on offer, we're looking for Yorkshire’s next aspiring singers and song writers.

The competition is open to all ages and both individuals and/or groups, please observe the correct social distancing for your area.

It could be your school band, your local choir, a group from brownies, scouts, work colleagues, uni mates or just you, on your own.

All genres and styles are welcome, from opera to, classical, pop, rock, rap, dance or even folk – it just has to be an original song – So if you have a passion for singing and song writing, there’s a place for you!

Entrants have until 13th November 2020 to submit their song (video no longer than 4 minutes in length). They will then be shortlisted by a panel of specialist judges from the music and media industry, before the final songs are put to a public vote to decide who will be crowned the LNER Song for Yorkshire winner 2020.

Finalists contacted - 26 November 
Filming of finalists - 30 November to 2 December
Finalists announced and public vote - 7 December to 9 December 
Winners announced - 11 December  

We’ve all been through so much together, so now let’s get together to celebrate our communities, celebrate recovery and celebrate Yorkshire.

The LNER Song for Yorkshire Winner 2020 will get...

• £1,000 cash prize

• The opportunity to perform live in front of an audience in line with any COVID-19 guidelines.
