Fearless five donate to Doncaster Food Bank
A team of five from Doncaster based Orb Recruitment have raised more than £1000 by taking part in a Wolf Run to boost supplies at Doncaster Food Bank.
Led by Managing Director, Stewart Olsen, the five took on the Water, Obstacles, Land and Forest challenge that makes up a Wolf Run spurred on by the knowledge that their efforts would help lots of families from the town.
Stewart said: “We were thrilled to be able to make such a large donation to the Doncaster Food Bank. We knew that we wanted to use the money raised to buy the supplies that would really make a difference to families who need that support this Christmas.
“The Food Bank is a real lifeline for so many families and we’d urge people to donate to them ahead of the festive period, they would welcome any donations.”
Stewart was joined in the challenge by operations director Paul Reddish, head of care services Vanessa Ogden, recruitment consultant, Tyla Sneap and accounts and payroll administrator, Ellis Fieldhouse
Stewart added: “I am so proud of the Orb Recruitment team, the challenge was not an easy one and included two open water swims, two river crossings, climbing walls and wading through swamp and bog.
“A huge thank you to everyone who sponsored us and helped us to make this difference. No family should be worried about where their next meal is coming from and the team at the Food Bank are doing all they can to alleviate these worries and help.”
Orb is a specialist, dedicated recruitment consultancy working within the Manufacturing/Production, Healthcare, Construction & Engineering industries with clients across the UK from offices in Doncaster and London.
Sandra Edwards from Doncaster Food Bank said: “This donation will make a huge difference to people over the Christmas period.
“We are extremely grateful to Orb Recruitment for bringing such a large donation of food and toiletries, we have regular donations from businesses, but I don’t think I’ve ever seen one company donate so much in one go.
“It is fantastic that businesses are taking it upon themselves to support us and like Stewart from Orb it is often because they want to make a difference to the community in the town that they live in and know that this is a way to ensure that all of the donation is used to help people.”
Doncaster Food Bank welcomes donations throughout the year and at this time of year particularly welcomes selection boxes, crackers, tins of ham, stuffing, cranberry sauce, Christmas puddings, custard and Christmas gifts.
