Fall asleep only a stone’s throw away from the animals at YWP as new campsite opens.
The breath taking sounds of lions, tigers and polar bears are the backdrop of a fresh, new camping experience at Yorkshire Wildlife Park.
Visitors will be able to drift off to sleep to the echoing calls of the award-winning park’s 450 animals at the unique campsite.
The family friendly Roar and Snore camp will open for 6 weeks only on July 22 until the end of August. Campsite guests will be able to take advantage of one or two day tickets with unlimited entry to the Wildlife Park during their visit and guests will also be able to book an exclusive ‘after hours’ tour of the 150-acre park at Branton, near Doncaster. Bookings are now open – advance booking is essential.
“You can fall asleep only a stone’s throw away from the animals and it takes camping to a completely new, cool level,” said Matt Zaremba, who is taking on the new role of Campsite Manager for the summer.
“The campsite is surrounded by fields and woods and is on the edge of Wildlife Park, so you can you experience the local wildlife as well as hearing the calls and roars of animals from the Wildlife Park. This is a first for us and we are looking forward to welcoming visitors.”
Each pitch at the campsite will have enough space for six people bringing one large or two small tents and one vehicle with safe distancing protocols in place. The Breakfast Den wagon will be open in the mornings selling delicious morning meals and there will be evening access to the Masai Pizzeria inside the Park.
“Visitors will be bedding down within earshot of Amur tigers, polar bears, lions and the amazing sounds of 150 different species,” added Matt. “It’s an experience to remember and will be fun for all the family throughout the summer.
“Guests can enjoy fantastic outdoor camping experience and get close to nature in a holiday like no other.”
Yorkshire Wildlife Park reopened on June 15th. The main area of the park has 5 km of paths with clear safe distancing notices and stringent cleaning procedures to ensure a safe and enjoyable visit.
