Doncaster Council’s Major Events Team will be following all guidelines issued with respect of the current and future advice given whilst in the midst of the COVID-19  Pandemic.

Events by their nature are aimed at groups of people and sometimes, with some of our events, this is many thousands of people. Clearly this is a situation at present we are advised by central government is prohibited.

It is with regret therefore that we have today announced a postponement of ALL events hosted by us for the foreseeable future. It means we will no longer deliver the Wool Market first birthday celebration, our Easter Trail event, the planned VE Day celebrations, the Delicious Doncaster Food Festival and The Dragon Boat Race at Lakeside . It is our intention to try and reschedule the Food Festival and potentially celebrate the 75th VE Day along with a wider WW2 anniversary event on VJ Day in August, but of course this will become clearer as we move forward in the coming weeks. Other events later in the calendar will be monitored and assessed as the situation develops. We hope to be able to honour bookings with revised dates later in the year as well as offer traders, contractors and suppliers our reassurance that as soon as we are in a position to advise of new dates or new plans we will do so.

We also encourage event planners across the borough to be mindful of the advice currently being given and urge everyone to follow the guidelines about the delivery of events. Although our team cannot give specific advice, please rest assured Doncaster Council and our teams will help in any way we can in these uncertain times.

If you do have events that cancel please make sure you let us know so we can remove from the listings on the Visit Doncaster website.

We love bringing you events and we look forward to a return to normal, we will try our very best to keep you up to date with developments and please stay safe.
