Battle of Britain
Strongman teams from England, Ireland, Scotland and Wales will battle it out for the 4 Nations Championship at Doncaster Dome on Sunday 30th June. 1pm - 5pm
The competition, called ‘The Battle of Britain’ will see 4 man teams come together in an exciting team competition to determine bragging rights for who is the strongest country.
Team England will be Captained by World’s Strongest Man legend Mark Felix, alongside his team mates Sean Logan (England’s Strongest Man, Burnley), Rob Spence (County Durham) and Yorkshireman Phil Roberts, who hopes to be back in action after suffering a broken leg at Britain’s Strongest Man in Sheffield last month.
Reigning Champions Scotland will be led by Paul ‘Bad Boy’ Benton the fiery Scot who’s passionate leadership saw his team overcome the favourites England back in 2017. UK’s Strongest Man and 3 Time Ireland’s Strongest Man Pa O’Dwyer will Captain a much fancied Irish team, and the vocal Irishman is in characteristic confident mood:
“We can’t wait to come over to show what the Irish can do. I went head to head with England’s Strongest Man Sean Logan this weekend in a ¼ tonne deadlift challenge, and beat him easily. England will always be the favourites, but this is all about teamwork, and if Mark Felix can’t get the English working together we will take advantage. I just can’t see anybody beating us”.
Strongman is one of the fastest growing spectator sports in the UK, with thousands of fans attending events around the country, and has become a favourite with families because of the incredible feats of strength, sportsmanship and great entertainment on offer.
Tickets start at £20 for children under 15, and are available from the Doncaster Dome Box Office https://www.dclt.co.uk/whats-on/ultimate-strongman-battle-of-britain/
