7 Of The Best - 11-12 November

It's Remembrance weekend and as well the poignant tribute to the fallen at Conisbrough Castle, we've got six other events to inspire your plans for Saturday and Sunday, the 11th and 12th November.

1. Poppies at Conisbrough Castle

Pay tribute to the fallen this weekend at Conisbrough Castle as it becomes beautifully illuminated into a monument of remembrance with poppies projected on to the central keep.

As this year also marks the 100th Anniversary of the Battle of the Somme we are going to do something really special.

The poppies will be projected onto Conisbrough Castle Keep on the evenings of 11th, 12th and 13th November between 6.30pm to 8.30pm. Permission has been granted by English Heritage along with the backing of Conisbrough & Denaby Royal British Legion

This is a free event.


2. Frenchgate Christmas Spectacular

Come along and join in at the Frenchgate Centre on the 11th November for a Christmas Spectacular - a day of festive fun!

A fun filled day of festive fun playing will play host a number of great acts and events such as the Snow Lion, Magical Stilt Walkers, Santa’s Parade, Face Painting, Balloon Modelling, Free Gift Wrap and of course, the arrival of the big man himself!

Come along from 12pm onwards.


3. Wildlive Weekend at YWP

Kickstart your winter at Yorkshire Wildlife Park with their WildLIVE Weekends!

From Sat 11th & Sun 12th Nov meet the X Factor stars Spencer Sutherland (Sat) and Talia Dean (Sun) as they make their first exclusive personal appearances at YWP.
Don’t miss your chance to be part of this incredible meet-and-greet experience including a small selection of their favourite songs performed live at 12:30 & 14:30 (approx 25mins) followed by a personal meet and greet!
Visit each weekend 10am – 4pm up to 26th Nov as more X Factor finalists and future stars join our exciting WildLIVE line-up. Plus, enjoy a full day to explore the incredible world of animals at Yorkshire Wildlife Park! FREE with standard day admission to Yorkshire Wildlife Park!


4. Rita, Sue and Bob Too

“As long as you’re alive that’s all that matters”

Best friends Rita and Sue get a lift home from married Bob after babysitting his kids. When he takes the scenic route and offers them a bit of fun, the three start a fling each of them think they control.

Told with startling insight, a great ear for dialogue and wicked humour, Rita Sue and Bob Too comes to Cast this November.

5. The Magic of Mozart

Doncaster Choral Society presents: The Magic of Mozart - Requim & Solemn Vespers.

On Saturday 11th November, 19:30 at Priory Place, Methodist Church, Printing Office Street, Doncaster.

6. Betfred November Handicap

Come along to Doncaster Racecourse this Saturday 11th November for a thrilling day of eight flat racing.

Gates open: 10:30am, start race: 12:25pm, last race: 3:55pm.

7. DRFC vs. Rotherham United

Doncaster Rovers take on local rivals Rotherham United at the Keepmoat Stadium this Saturday 11th November 2017 with an early kick-off of 12:30pm.
