November is hurtling towards a close and there are more and more festive goings-on across Doncaster. #YourDN1 is as busy as ever with shoppers, Christmas party-goers, visitors to the theatres and all the other Christmassy events.
We hope everybody enjoyed our big Countdown to Christmas day last Saturday, just as much as we did. It was great to see such an overwhelming turn-out and lots of you having a lovely time and soaking up that festive atmosphere.

This Saturday 24th November (and also next Saturday, 1st December) book the kids in for a full day of creative, fun and fascinating activities at Doncaster Museum.

We've loved seeing so many of your stunning photographs and hearing your feedback on the incredible 'Museum of The Moon' that's been on display in Doncaster Minster this week and Saturday 24th November is your last chance to witness the spectacle. So if you've not already been - don't miss out.
There's FREE access from 10am - 3:30pm in the Minster. This touring art installation has been brought to Doncaster by Right Up Our Street - responsible for the brilliant DN Festival. It's a real treat for the town. Get and see it while you can, experience the out of this world atmosphere and don't forget your camera!

Local legends Steve Kimber and Andy Ward from the Doncaster Civic Trust are back this weekend with another town centre Heritage Walk. The 'Christmas, Dickens & Doncaster Heritage Walk' lasts 90 minutes and takes you through #YourDN1, reflecting on Christmas in the town in the Victorian era and details Charles Dickins' visit to the town in 1857.
These walks are always really popular and well-received, so booking is essential to secure your space. Tel. 01302 734309 to book through the Tourist Information Centre, or pop in in person. Walks cost £5.00 per person.

Show your support and enjoy a fabulous all woman line-up at Roots this month at their 'Let's Hear It For The Girls' fundraiser in aid of Greengables.
Roots Music Club, Doncaster are promoting a special concert in aid of YWCA Green Gables which exists to help young women, children and families in the local area. All of the performers are young women who symbolise the work of the unit and all proceeds will go the organisation https://www.ywcayorkshire.org.uk/doncaster/
Lu Moré covers pop and rock classic with her unique voice; Laura Kelly stuns audiences with her intriguing use of loop pedals and harmonisers; Anya Wiltschinsky takes classic tracks and makes them her own; the music of singer-songwriter Harriet Rose Grant offers honest reflections of life with a unique country twist; Dionne Sturdy is usually found fronting Doncaster band, The Resistance; and 11 year old Scarlett Kirwan, who only made her stage debut in September is back to impress with her burgeoning talent.

Bawtry Town Centre, Market Place, Bawtry, DN10 6JL
Christmas arrives in Bawtry this Sunday 25th November! Last year saw a record year in attendance for Christmastime 2017 and returns this year with a full day of events held across the whole town, see the lights switch on and thegrand appearance of the now-iconic, Bawtry Eye.
Over 40 stalls and catering outlets will cluster in the Market Place, Dower House Square, the Church Hall and the Courtyard and will be accompanied by fairground rides, traditional carousel kindly sponsored once again by the Bawtry Town Council, musical entertainment throughout the event and a viewing area for the spectacular Womack’s of Bawtry Christmas window unveiling which takes place at 5pm.
“This is the fifth event and the team have been working hard to ensure that our 2018 event is full of festive cheer and has lots for all ages to enjoy,” said Ross Jarvie, Bawtry Retail Association.
“In addition to all our stalls and attractions, most of the towns independent shops will be open giving visitors endless opportunities and inspiration for Christmas present shopping and home decoration.”
