Suggs and Co Return to Doncaster Racecourse

Doncaster Racecourse has confirmed that legendary band Madness, led by iconic front man Suggs, will play at its Town Moor course on Saturday, June 30, as part of the Construction Index live music night, with the live concert after racing.

And tickets for the sure to be a sell-out event are now on sale via the racecourse’s website.

Known globally for their twenty-one top-twenty singles over seven years in the late seventies and eighties, including ‘One Step Beyond’, ‘It Must Be Love’, ‘House of Fun’, ‘Baggy Trousers’, ‘My Girl’ and ‘Our House’,  the band’s sound developed from their early Ska roots and has set the tone for over three decades of complete Madness.

And it’s not the first time the boys from Camden Town have mixed it up in Doncaster. After the redevelopment at the course, the band was the first live act to play there (pictured during their 2008 concert above), wowing a packed house which they are set to do once again.

Mark Spincer, managing director of Doncaster Racecourse, said: “It’s fantastic to have signed Madness for our Live Music Night Race Meeting in June and I am delighted to announce that tickets are now on sale.

“The band always put on and incredible show, it’s amazing to see the crowd, young and old, dancing to classic Madness tracks, I’m sure they will be absolutely electrifying to watch live. With a packed evening of top class horse racing beforehand it’s going to be a great event for people to come and enjoy.”

Madness stated: "We're over the moon to be returning to Doncaster Racecourse. Our last gig at Doncaster Racecourse was in 2008 and we remember the massive crowd fondly. Four years on, we hear the people of Yorkshire want us back. We're working on our 10th studio album at the moment, which will be out later this year - so the Doncaster Racecourse crowd can expect all the favourites plus some new stuff too!"
